The rules
Rock blunts scissors, scissors cut paper, and paper wraps rock. If both players choose the same thing, it's a draw.
Can you beat the computer?
Against a truly random opponent, no strategy wins in the long run: you'll win, lose and draw about a third of the time each. Against people, it's different. Rock is a popular opening move, and people who lose a round tend to switch to a different move, while winners often repeat theirs. Our computer ignores all of that and chooses randomly, using your browser's cryptographic random number generator.
Questions
Does the computer cheat?
No. The computer's choice is made at random at the same time as yours and never looks at what you picked.
What is the best first move in rock paper scissors?
Against people, paper does slightly better because rock is the most common opening. Against our computer, every move is equally good.
